Dr. Tirsa Baker PT, DPT

My name is Tirsa Baker and I am an Arizona native. I have an incredible husband and two wonderful boys. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology from Grand Canyon University, I attended graduate school at A.T. Still University where I earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

I have been practicing pediatric physical therapy for the past 18 years. Since 2007, I have been providing in-home physical therapy services for the Mesa, Gilbert, and Queen Creek areas.

I have specialty training in Tethered Oral tissues (TOTS). As a physical therapist specially trained in tongue and lip tie, I provide support through oral motor development, suck training, and latch pre and post-release.

My passion is to help children grow to their full potential. I love working alongside parents and families in a collaborative effort to help their babies. I have over a decade of experience working with infants and children with developmental delay, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, Torticollis, neurodevelopmental disorders, and high medical needs that may need physical therapy.

My job is to love others and help babies thrive!

Dr. Trisa Baker, PT DPT. In home and clinic based pediatric physical therapist.

My Qualifications & Trainings

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (2007)
  • Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Grand Canyon University (2004)

Additional Trainings

  • TOTS Specialty Training - Dr. Tirsa completed one on one mentorship with Dr. Giselle Tadros of Milk Matters PT. This intensive in-person training was filled with discussions of evaluations and treatment of infants with oral restrictions, body tension, oral mortor dysfunction and movement challenges from the perspective of a physical therapist.

  • Total Motion Release (TMR) -  Dr. Tirsa has completed Level 1 TMR training. TMR helps identify postural asymmetries such as torticollis and helps relieve tension and postural alignment with a tear free hands on approach. This method is easily taught to parents as part of a home program during treatment sessions.

  • Gillespie Approach Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) - Dr. Tirsa is trained in CFT for adults and infants. CFT helps identify and reduce fascial restrictions in the body. When the fascia moves freely, the body does too!  CFT helps with infants experiencing tension, torticollis, oral restrictions, delayed milestones, reflux, head shape, and other childhood concerns.

  • Lactation Informed Therapy Courses - Dr. Tirsa has completed Lactation OT coursework including: Tongue Ties, Breastfeeding and the Lactation Savvy Therapist, Bottle Feeding Skills: Refining Clinical Reasoning for Selection and Use, Bodywork for Better Breastfeeding and many more from the leaders in this field.
